These pressure sensors are based on Superior's NimbleSense™ architecture and provide inlet (wall and reservoir), flow, inspiratory, expiratory, and barometric pressures, while eliminating the need for the ventilator to oversample the sensor outputs, as the sensor oversamples at 12 kHz and includes internal bandwidth filters to provide a clean data rate of >1 kHz. The VN Series pressure sensors also utilize Multi-Range™ technology, which combines an advanced piezoresistive sensing element with integrated amplification, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and a digital signal processor (DSP) to increase dynamic range. This design eliminates the need for additional fine-tuning or calibration. The VN Series pressure sensors offer 24-bit output resolution and two extreme-resolution flow sensors, with an effective resolution of approximately 18 bits and high bandwidth. The EK07-VN sensor evaluation board , also available from Mouser, is designed to evaluate the capabilities of the VN series of pressure sensors.
