While the ANG series complements ZF's existing range of angle sensors, the LIN series opens up entirely new application areas for its customers. These sensors can be used in applications such as hydraulic valves, hydraulic controls, electric drives, pneumatic controls, gear selection or shift position detection, lift or ride height detection, throttle and pedal travel measurement, steering wheel position detection, or as a contactless alternative to encoders.

With an IP68 protection rating, the sensors can be used even in harsh environments. They meet industrial and automotive inspection guidelines for EMC/EMI/ESD and offer 12-bit signal resolution.

Thanks to their very compact mounting dimensions, the sensors in the ANG and LIN series require less space than conventional sensors of similar capacity. The low mounting height of only 6.5 mm makes this component a space-saving alternative in the range of displacement and angle sensors.

While the LIN series displacement sensor can detect a measuring range of 45 mm, the ANG angle sensor stands out with a programmable measuring range of 0° to 360°. Thanks to the use of top-quality technology, both sensors are extremely efficient, with a total error-free rate of ±2% and an output signal linearity of ±1%. The angle/measuring range, tilt, and PWM signal can be freely programmed upon request and thus adapted to the customer's application. Because there is no mechanical connection between the sensor and the magnet, there is no wear or risk of jamming.

The LIN and ANG series sensors are contactless position sensors with one or two independent output signals. They operate using Hall effect technology, which generates magnetic fields with the help of permanent magnets. These magnets provide a linearly modified output signal (radiometrically with respect to the input voltage), corresponding to the linear displacement of the control magnet.

The LIN travel sensor is supplied with a suitable drive magnet, which has been specially calibrated for the sensor, thus ensuring optimal operation.
