The design, based on NXP's S32K3xx MCU platform and Vishay's advanced power board, offers a complete integrated hardware and software solution that supports functional safety and facilitates pre-compliance with IEC61508 standards. Its modular and scalable architecture, optimized for 48V, 72V, and 96V applications, supports power outputs up to 3kW, making it ideal for a wide range of next-generation light electric vehicles.
“Our new reference design for a traction inverter for light electric vehicles showcases eInfochips’ extensive expertise in electrification and integrated systems,” said Philipp Mai, Global Engineering Director for Automotive and Transportation at Arrow Electronics. “In our collaboration with Vishay eMobility, we’ve combined cutting-edge power components with robust integration platforms to enable faster prototyping, reduce design risk, and accelerate time to market for light electric vehicle manufacturers.”.

“Designed for scalable light electric mobility applications from 48V to 96V systems, the design—incorporating eInfochips’ power control unit and Vishay’s advanced transfer-molded MOSFET half-bridge technology—offers a compact, high-performance solution,” said Massimo Carbone, senior director of Electric Mobility Applications at Vishay. “This collaboration is a testament to what is possible when industry leaders come together to drive innovation in the rapidly evolving electromobility space.”.
Reference design enables architects and propulsion systems engineers to overcome the technical challenges of electric mobility, helping to bring safer, smarter, and more sustainable vehicles to market faster.
