The ProJet 1200 low-cost professional printer is the first product in RS's range of 3D printers to use stereolithography (SLA), a technology that offers a more precise finish and less visible layers compared to other alternative low-cost 3D printer technologies such as fused filament fabrication (FFF).
In addition to prototyping, the ProJet 1200 is ideal for small, precise, and highly detailed casting patterns, thanks to its factory calibration that ensures completely reliable and accurate operation. Furthermore, its LED-based DLP technology allows for printing layers as thin as 30 microns (0.03 mm) at a resolution of 56 microns (585 dpi), achieving extremely fine and smooth details, suitable for manufacturing production components such as electronic connectors. This printer is also suitable for a wide variety of applications outside the engineering sector, such as jewelry making and dentistry.
Designed for use on workbenches or desktops, this low-maintenance printer measures 230 x 230 x 356 mm, with a net build volume of 43 x 27 x 150 mm and a vertical print speed of 14 mm per hour. The printer integrates a VisiJet® FTX Green UV-curable plastic station and an all-in-one material cartridge with a built-in print window. 3D Systems' VisiJet® FTX Green material is durable and rigid, and was specially developed for the ProJet 1200, as it melts cleanly and produces ashless micro-cast products.
Its setup is simple and similar to that of a 2D printer. Simply install it on a Windows-based PC with a network connection. The software also offers integrated STL CAD file format authentication.
The ProJet 1200 and VisiJet® FTX Green cartridges are available throughout Europe and Asia Pacific via RS.
