It features quick setup with enhanced security and monitoring capabilities, making it suitable as a multi-function central server for bus and train cars. This server offers a wide range of functions for passenger management, safety, and comfort.
The new Kontron Microspace MPCR50R covers a wide range of applications, from video surveillance of passenger areas and door security to passenger information and infotainment systems that can be uploaded to the central server. User benefits include a color LCD display that provides safety and system information such as voltages, temperatures, errors, operation ledger, and RTC battery voltage. The EN50155 CE and E1 certified system, with an MTBF of 60,000 hours, can be managed without the need for an additional display.
It offers a wide range of interfaces. Each interface is accessible via robust M12 or Sub-D ports; three USB 2.0 ports, four communication ports, and one Gigabit Ethernet port, along with a Fast Ethernet port from which the system can boot, plus four optical ports and four digital inputs and outputs. Displays with resolutions up to 2048x1536 pixels (QXGA) can be connected via DVI and VGA.
The system offers numerous options for deployment via two PCI Express minicards, one PCI/104 Express card, and one PCI Express card. Pre-installed solutions are available for six analog cameras and modules for GPS, GSM, and WLAN. Customer-specific functions such as RingWake, GSM-Wake, EventWake, or WakeOnLAN can be implemented via FPGA and microcontroller extensions. With these expansion options, the Kontron Microspace MPCR50R rail server reduces time to market, even for applications with specific configurations.
For high-capacity storage devices, hot-plug SATA300 hard drives or SSDs can be integrated. Additional multimedia storage devices can be connected via CompactFlash and ExpressCard slots.
The robust chassis is made of chrome-plated steel and requires no ventilation or maintenance, making it ideal for a wide temperature range (with an SSD). Power is supplied via a 24-110 VDC supply and is galvanically isolated against overvoltage up to 1.5 kV, essential for railway applications. Even in the event of an overvoltage, the system continues to operate efficiently thanks to an optional 12 V external battery that acts as a UPS.
It is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, various Windows Embedded Standard 7 versions, and Linux.
Kontron announces the EN50155 compliant Microspace MPCR50R 19-inch fanless rail server with low-voltage Intel Core 2 Duo L7400 (2x 1.5 GHz) processor.
