To meet these requirements, the new R series employs FP-LPT-HVIGBT (Fine Planar MOSgate Light Punch Through HVIGBT) and SR-HVDi (Soft Reverse Recovery HV-Diode) structures. These reduce overall losses and increase current rating while maintaining mechanical compatibility with the H series. The R series is manufactured in a package with a specific insulation voltage Vaisl = 10.2 kV, which can be used in a wide operating temperature range from -50 °C to 150 °C.
