The design of electronic and communications systems that require intensive use of algorithms often begins with MATLAB. As a final step, the MATLAB algorithms must be converted to C code for integration into the final product. Manually converting from MATLAB to C can take days or even weeks, introduce design errors, and cause delays to market. Now, design engineers can use MATLAB to accelerate development tasks such as fixed-point design and prototyping, and then automatically generate C code with MATLAB Coder.
MATLAB Coder supports a wide range of MATLAB language features for algorithm development, including mathematical operators with matrices and dynamic matrix manipulation. Hundreds of operators, functions, and system objects are supported, including numerous advanced algorithms for digital signal processing and communications.
Along with MATLAB Coder, MathWorks has launched Simulink Coder and Embedded Coder. These two new products simplify code generation for Simulink and Stateflow users by combining features previously available in various MathWorks offerings. The new products incorporate the industry-renowned Real-Time Workshop technology and offer comprehensive code generation support to accelerate prototyping, real-time testing, and the deployment of production embedded systems through integrated links with embedded development environments.
