With the creation of the AmpShare alliance, this single battery system for all manufacturers now encompasses more than 25 brands. This allows professional users across all sectors to enjoy an unprecedented range of applications and cover virtually any use with the AmpShare battery.
“Thanks to AmpShare, cordless work will become a reality for professionals. Work will be easier, more flexible, and more efficient,”says Henk Becker, President of Bosch Power Tools. “We are focusing all our energy on this multi-brand alliance (hence the abbreviation 'Amp' for ampere) and furthering our vision of a universal battery platform by sharing a battery and a logo among all the brands,” Becker adds. A key advantage for users is that all Bosch professional batteries purchased since 2008 will remain compatible. This means that more than 80 million batteries can continue to be used in all Bosch professional tools and, in the future, also in all tools within the AmpShare alliance, as Bosch battery technology remains the core of the system.
For Christoph Weiß, CEO of Fein, a leading supplier of multi-tools, the creation of this alliance is another milestone in the collaboration with Bosch. “In 2016, we developed the Starlock system together with Bosch as a tool holder for multi-tools. By creating the AmpShare alliance, we are supporting our shared vision of being able to use tools from different manufacturers with a single battery and charger in the future. In addition to our multi-tools, we will adapt Fein’s entire 18-volt product portfolio to the AmpShare interface to make our customers’ daily work easier.”
Rothenberger, for its part, contributes to the alliance with its experience and expertise in tool systems for connecting, installing, and maintaining pipes. “We believe in both systematic solutions and the concept of cordless work. A multi-brand battery system with extended runtime combines both ideas. Therefore, we have decided to market all our battery-powered tools with the AmpShare interface in the future,” says CEO Christian Heine.
