"Connectivity + Security" is one of the main themes of Light + Building. Due to its growing importance and demand, the industry's meeting point brings together a range of products and services related to security with the Intersec Building section in Hall 8.0. "Connected security technology is an integral part of modern buildings and can no longer be considered in isolation. Integration is therefore a completely logical step in the development of our Light + Building. With the Intersec Building focus, we are leveraging Messe Frankfurt's expertise in the field of security, protection, and fire safety. In this respect, we particularly benefit from the experience of the leading trade fair in Dubai and continue to expand our international network with twelve trade fairs positioned worldwide," explains Wolfgang Marzin, Chairman and CEO of Messe Frankfurt GmbH.
Companies exhibiting in the Intersec Building section are specially identified with a label on their booth, as well as at the Light + Building counter. This makes it easier for visitors with a special interest in security to find the right offerings and plan their visit to the trade fair in the best possible way. Furthermore, the special interest theme "Emergency Lighting" is located in Hall 8.0 in the immediate area of exhibitors, featuring products and services related to security.

The Intersec Forum, running parallel to Light + Building 2022,
will be a live and safe event. The fifth edition of the Intersec Forum, a conference for connected security technology, will take place in 2022. It begins on the second day of Light + Building and complements the leading international trade fair for lighting and building technology in its Intersec Building section. The conference offers insights and expert exchanges on all aspects of connected technologies for building security.
This specialized conference on connected security technology is a cross-sectoral meeting place for experts and a networking event for those who plan, operate, and develop building technology systems. Their challenges lie in the integration of diverse security systems and technologies. Therefore, the conference content covers all technical, legal, economic, regulatory, and scientific aspects of connected building and security services. The focus will be on the following industry topics: Future and business models of security technology in networked buildings; Semantic interoperability of trades, software, and protocols; Video and access control technology, use of biometric data; Fire protection in the context of building renovation; AI and predictive security.
