The new UPS, for applications in extreme environments, features a highly sophisticated core and modular design to deliver market-leading efficiency and optimized operating costs, without compromising reliability or safety.

“For many of our customers, a reliable power supply is key to safe operations in harsh and extremely demanding work environments. In these environments, cutting corners when it comes to safety is not an option, but at the same time, companies need to keep a close eye on the overall cost of their operations,” commented Kalle Roselli, Product Manager for Eaton in EMEA. “The 9PHD is rugged and efficient, delivering over 96 percent efficiency in double-conversion mode and 99 percent when operating in Eaton’s Energy Saver System (ESS) mode. This, along with the unit’s high expandability and configurability, helps us meet specific customer power requirements and ensure business continuity.”

The 9PHD is available in a power range from 40 kVA to 200 kVA and comes in two chassis sizes, depending on the transformer configuration and power requirements. Its highly adaptable design makes it suitable for a wide range of industries. With a protection rating up to IP54, it is built to withstand harsh working environments and has passed rigorous testing for high vibration and seismic conditions. The new industrial UPS features a compact footprint and is available with internal transformer options, making it ideal for monitoring, safety and control, and production applications.

Since UPS units are often located in hard-to-reach production areas, especially in remote locations such as oil platforms, installation and servicing can be challenging. For this reason, the Eaton 9PHD features a modular design for easier installation and maintenance. It offers convenient front access and ample interior space for cable interconnection to support quick termination and even the use of dual cables if required. Additional features, such as lifting brackets and casters, make these units for harsh environments easier to handle during installation, removal, and servicing.
