ups-10kva-2Its flexible design allows for rack or tower mounting. The range offers an integrated network management card that enables the installation of accessories, as well as other communication options.

In its online double conversion topology, the inverter continuously regenerates the supply output signal, which is suitable for equipment with low immunity that could be affected by even the slightest supply disturbance. For example, this can occur in equipment using linear power supplies, which can be found in industrial process and control applications.

To achieve greater efficiency, and taking advantage of the fact that most computers and network equipment can operate with micro-voltage interruptions (<20ms), the Smart-UPS On-Line can also operate in a highly efficient ECO mode. In this mode, under normal conditions, the inverter shuts down and a controlled bypass is implemented between the input and output, achieving 97% efficiency. This not only reduces energy consumption and its associated costs, but also the energy required for cooling. The lower heat generated by the unit also helps extend the lifespan of key components such as the batteries.

A multi-color backlit LCD displays the UPS status in real time. The LCD also generates diagnostics and information that can be useful for identifying potential problems before they cause a power outage to critical loads. To monitor and control energy consumption, the units also include an integrated electricity meter.

The new Smart-UPS On-Line also features an intelligent battery management system with replaceable batteries that adjusts to extend battery life, allowing users to check battery status (including external packs). It also includes the most advanced warning system when a battery needs replacing. In case of failure, an interface allows the user to replace the faulty battery and recommends whether other batteries should be replaced at the same time. Batteries can be changed without interrupting the power supply.

The new range allows for rapid battery charging, providing greater availability for installations where chronic power problems can cause multiple power outages in short periods. Additionally, the UPS can operate with or without batteries to ensure load restart once power is restored.
