The SimpleLink ultra-low-power platform combines high levels of integration with a wide range of supported communication protocols, including Bluetooth® Low Power, ZigBee®, 6LoWPAN, Sub-1 GHz, and ZigBee RF4CE™. A suite of ready-to-use protocol stacks simplifies design with this platform, making it easy to create products compatible with multiple wireless connectivity standards.
Featuring an integrated ARM® Cortex®-M3 core, flash memory, analog-to-digital converter, peripherals, sensor controller, and chip security, the SimpleLink ultra-low-power platform delivers high functionality with extremely low power consumption. This makes it particularly well-suited for battery-free energy harvesting applications and always-on applications that operate for several years on a coin cell battery. Peak radio currents are below 6.2 mA, and the active MCU current is less than 61 µA/MHz. The entire chip can remain in standby mode with only 1 µA, with memory retention and an active real-time clock.
To get started with development, Arrow offers the following kits:
• CC2650DK: Includes a complete 2.4 GHz RF development platform, software, and hardware for Bluetooth Smart, ZigBee, and 6LoWPAN
• CC2650EMK: Includes two pluggable boards optimized for easily analyzing RF performance with more nodes in a CC2650DK network
• CC2650STK: The next-generation Bluetooth Smart SensorTag
