With xPC Target, computationally intensive algorithms can now be run on FPGA boards, providing speed and flexibility. Control system engineers can program FPGA boards for xPC Target Turnkey systems using code generated by Simulink HDL Coder, accelerating designs and enabling them to meet higher performance requirements. This new capability allows for the reconfiguration of digital input/output (I/O) modules and the implementation of high-speed algorithms for control or signal processing within real-time prototyping and testing environments.
In addition to FPGA compatibility, other new product features include:
Task-level profile creation of execution periods to facilitate load balancing;
support for cameras based on the Camera Link interface standard;
image acquisition from USB webcams; and
the ability to send and receive UDP packets in real time.
