Understanding the challenges their clients may face, Media MicroComputer has spent years cultivating its supplier network to offer enhanced features and complete customized projects at competitive prices. Media MicroComputer's integration into the Steliau Technology EUROPE group has strengthened this synergy and expanded the range of suppliers capable of providing solutions.
TFT:
What's the starting point? Undoubtedly, choosing a TFT display that fits the dimensions required for our project. Having different brands available allows us to offer a range of sizes that go beyond the basic 4.3", 5.7", 7", or 10.4". We find a variety ranging from 1.1" to 104" with different formats: perfectly square, elongated, ultra-elongated, round, 16:9, etc. Another point to define is the TFT technology, which can guarantee the definition required for the product: TN, HTS, STN, FSTN.
BOE, Future Focus, Stone, and Jenson Display are some of the reputable brands we work with to cover the different technologies, sizes, and shapes.
Backlighting
allows us to adjust the lighting characteristics to suit the application. Outdoor areas or those facing windows require high brightness, while indoor equipment needs moderate brightness to avoid dazzling the user. An ambient light sensor in the backlight can help increase or decrease brightness levels, but choosing too high would increase the final product cost, while choosing too low would detract from the overall result.
The interface kit consists of the controller and the cabling for the different display components. With the interface kit, we define the communication signals between the CPU or MCUS. We can work with common PC signals like HDMI, DP, and VGA, or with signals more commonly used in industrial applications, such as I2C, LVDS, and TTL.
Touch:
If we've decided to use a touchscreen on the TFT—capacitive, projected capacitive, or resistive—this interface kit also includes the controllers for this element, which is fully configurable in terms of both active area dimensions and wiring dimensions. You can also choose the thickness and material, and customize the non-active areas, from painting them with corporate colors to adding graphics or logos. TouchKit and Vantouch provide the technology to achieve the best results.
The "clean" rooms that the Steliau Technology group operates in France and Italy ensure unbeatable fit and quality in the placement and finishing of touchscreens on TFTs.
Monitor or Panel PC:
At this point, before adding the metal or plastic enclosure to the TFT screen, we can choose between a monitor or a panel PC.
This is where Media Microcomputer collaborates with various motherboard manufacturers, selecting components based on the processing capabilities, input/output, size, thermal characteristics, and/or communication requirements of the final application.
For the mechanical and thermal components of both monitors and panel PCs, we utilize our SRX division, which coordinates an industrial network of 22 companies. This network provides us with access to injection molding, extrusion, CNC machining, stamping, and other processes, ensuring flexibility and suitability throughout the manufacturing process.
The synergy of all our brands means that their combined efforts produce a more significant, effective, and efficient result than they could achieve individually.
