cypress-psoc-4 pioneer-kit-wThe Cypress PSoC 4 product family combines an ARM® Cortex M0 microcontroller, reconfigurable analog blocks, and digital programmable logic. Peripherals include a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), two digital-to-analog converters (DACs), two operational amplifiers, and standard communication and timing peripherals. The PSoC 4 also features a 20nA STOP mode.

The Cypress PSoC-4 Pioneer Kit, available from Mouser Electronics, includes connectors for Arduino and PMod subboards. The board also features a CapSense® slider, an RGB LED, a user button, and access to all pins on the CY8C4245AXI. A USB connector links the board to a PC, enabling communication via USB-to-UART, USB-to-I2C, or ARM SWD (Serial Wire Debug). Once connected, the PC runs the Cypress PSoC Creator IDE, which allows developers to simultaneously configure the PSoC 4's programmable logic and write and compile application firmware from C code. The IDE has an easy-to-use graphical interface that allows developers to drag and drop pre-characterized, production-ready analog and digital IP blocks (PSoC Components) onto a single PSoC 4 to create custom, feature-rich, and highly differentiated programmable products.

The Cypress PSoC-4 Pioneer Kit includes the PSoC-4 Pioneer Kit Board, a quick start guide, a USB A to mini B cable, and six jumper wires. Designs implemented using the PSoC-4 architecture include field-oriented control (FOC), industrial motor control, temperature sensing, security access control, wearable medical devices, and many other low-power applications.
