Using an intuitive interface, the PowerCAD simulation tool assists both experienced analog and power designers, as well as junior or less experienced digital designers, in high-power and high-frequency voltage regulation design.
Based on the required operating conditions, the engineer can select the appropriate regulator from Vishay's product portfolio and generate a complete circuit diagram of the application. The diagram can be edited as needed for more advanced users or for performance comparison purposes.

Once the basic circuit has been created, the designer can perform DC, transient, and startup simulations with visibility into all the waveforms of the circuit nodes. Circuit efficiency and optimization can also be analyzed with a detailed power loss analysis.

By following these steps, the PowerCAD simulation tool generates a Bill of Materials (BOM) for online ordering, enabling rapid validation that dramatically reduces design time. Circuit simulations and other findings can be easily shared with Vishay Failure Analysis Engineers (FAEs) for additional technical support.
Regulator ICs supported by the PowerCAD simulation tool include the Vishay Siliconix microBUCK® family of high-efficiency, high-frequency, fully protective step-down regulators.

Delivering high performance in a compact size, the microBUCK family serves as a cost-effective solution for a wide range of point-of-load (POL) applications with input voltages from 2.7 V to 36 V and handling up to 15 A of load current. The PowerCAD simulation tool offers on-the-fly simulation for the following microBUCK devices: SiC413, SiC414, SiC424, SiC401, SiC402, SiC403, and SiP12107.
The Vishay PowerCAD simulation tool joins the online thermal simulation tool ThermaSim, reference boards, and other resources as part of Vishay's commitment to supporting its customers worldwide as a one-stop shop for power management solutions.
