The new optocouplers have been designed for applications such as high-speed digital interfaces for device measurement or control, MIP (Measurement, Instrumentation, and Processing) units, intelligent power module units, and programmable logic controllers for use in industrial environments.
The TLP2745 is a buffer logic optocoupler (high input → high output), while the TLP2748 is an inverter logic optocoupler (high input → low output); both provide a minimum isolation voltage of 5000 Vrms.
The demand in recent years for energy-efficient products has led to a need for increasingly efficient power systems. With a high-speed propagation delay time of 120 ns (max) for increased operating efficiency, while guaranteeing a pulse width distortion of 40 ns (max) and a propagation delay bias of 70 ns (max), these new integrated circuits enable reduced inverter downtime, contributing to an overall improvement in energy efficiency. Furthermore, by guaranteeing a threshold input current of 1.6 mA (max), they allow direct, buffer-free control from microcomputers, thus reducing power consumption and cost.
With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 110°C and a wide supply voltage range (VCC = 4.5 to 30 V), these ICs are suitable for communication interfaces (such as RS232, RS422, and RS485), including their use in industrial applications, and for data transmission solutions between circuits with different voltages. The TLP2745 and TLP2748 are in an SO6L package, which measures 10 mm x 3.8 mm x 2.1 mm and guarantee a leakage line of 8 mm (min).
