The new photomicrosensors, designed for office equipment, household appliances, vending machines, video games, and medical applications, come with the connection cable already pre-soldered. They can be connected directly to a remote circuit board and screwed onto the equipment housing. This reduces costs by eliminating the need for a separate sensor board and also increases reliability.

Omron has introduced a range of 12 new pre-wired devices. The general-purpose EE-SX1088 series features a 0.5mm vertical aperture for detecting objects moving horizontally across the sensor. A horizontal aperture version (EE-SX1096 series) is also available for detecting objects moving vertically across the sensor, as well as a wider version with a 9.5mm slot (EE-SX1160 series). The EE-SX1161 series is a dustproof version with a 3.2mm sensing distance.

All models are available in Dark-On and Dark-Off versions. Dark-On photomicrosensors are activated when no object is present in the aperture, while Dark-Off devices are activated when an object is present. All these new products are supplied with two different output configurations: phototransistor and photo-IC.
