These new integrated circuits incorporate system reset functions, including a watchdog window feature to assist in the recovery of microcontrollers when an abnormal state is detected or a processor becomes stuck in a loop. Additional protection is provided by an overcurrent limiter. Both integrated circuits are manufactured for low power consumption using Toshiba's BICD process.
The TB9021FNG achieves a standby current of 30 μA (typical). It also includes an output transistor that supports 0.2 A of current, helping to reduce the number of external ICs required and simplifying the system. The TB9021FNG offers temperature sensing and durable front-end Vcc and GND connections.
Supporting 1 A or higher output current, in combination with an external power transistor, the TB9005FNG is ideal for use in automotive applications requiring high output current. The TB9005FNG achieves a standby current of 90 μA (typical) and includes a current limiter that is adjustable with an external resistor.
Both devices have entered mass production.
