With a terminal pitch of just 1.80 mm combined with IP67 protection, the Squba connector system ensures a reliable connection even in space-constrained and harsh environments such as outdoor lighting, air conditioning and climate control equipment, security systems, robotics, motors and industrial machinery, food processing equipment, liquid dispensers, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and wiring for lighting and under-deck installations on ships and other marine vessels.
Molex's patent-pending design features a protected, low-profile positive locking mechanism that prevents wires from being caught during assembly, while maintaining the connector pack's compact size. Sealing caps with guide channels align the terminals, providing enhanced protection against seal puncture during handling, transport, insertion, and operation.
The Molex Squba wire-to-wire connector system includes wire and receptacle housings, as well as crimp terminals that can be assembled in 2- to 10-circuit configurations, with optional 3-, 5-, 7-, and 9-circuit configurations. Clean terminals with wrap-around insulation crimps help prevent seal punctures. Each female terminal has two contact points and two notches in the conductor crimp area to improve electrical and mechanical performance. A primary locking mechanism provides a terminal retention force of 30 N.
The contact resistance is 10 mΩ and the insulation resistance is 100 MΩ. The maximum voltage is 125 V, and dielectric strength tests indicate a leakage current of less than 5 mA. The operating temperature range is between -40° and +105°C.
