The relay is the same size and weight as the conventional G9KB series, but it increases its maximum switching voltage by 33 percent and its current by 50 percent. Therefore, the relay opens up new possibilities for application designers to reduce the number of relays per system and deliver more power in a smaller footprint.

The G9KB-E is capable of bidirectional DC switching, allowing a single device to replace two unidirectional relays. The relay incorporates arc suppression technology to safely interrupt high-capacity DC. 3D arc simulation technology is used to visualize the arcing phenomenon and optimize the arc suppression process, resulting in a more compact design with improved safety compared to competitor technologies.

The device achieves a low nominal contact resistance of 5 milliohms, resulting in less heat generation and more efficient performance. This, in turn, improves reliability and extends the lifespan of the G9KB-E itself and nearby components in the same system. The G9KB-E is mounted on a printed circuit board and weighs less than designs based on conventional contactors or relays. Unlike conventional hermetically sealed relay designs, it contains no hydrogen for added safety. The device has been tested to exceed one million mechanical life operations and is certified by UL (UL60947-4-1), TUV (EN 61810-10), and CQC (GB/T 21711.1).
