To date, the LQ series boasts a high switching capacity of up to 10 A and is available in six coil voltage ratings ranging from 5 V to 24 V, with either one Form A contact or one Form C contact configuration.
Key features include a sealed construction for enhanced environmental protection, along with high surge withstand voltage and dielectric strength, making them ideal for high-voltage applications at ambient, up to 85°C, and 105°C.
Now, Panasonic Industry announces two expansions to its popular LQ series, making it suitable for an even wider range of applications and mounting purposes:

Improvements to the high inrush current and the type of reinforced insulation

The new ALQ6 is designed to meet the growing demand for high inrush current capacity in automated systems, especially in motor control and LED lighting applications. The ALQ6 can effectively handle an inrush current of up to 40A for 100µs, making it an ideal solution for capacitive loads. With a contact capacity of 10A 125V AC, 8A 250V AC, and 5A 30V DC in a 1-form-A arrangement, the ALQ6 not only offers improved performance but also meets several safety standards with its increased creepage distance and contact-to-coil clearance, which measures a minimum of 5.5 mm and complies with IEC/EN60335-1.

An all-terrain vehicle, ready for Reflow processing

Along with the new specific input type, Panasonic Industry Europe announces that the LQ series is now available in an ebb-processable variant, meeting the evolving demands of modern manufacturing processes. The LQ relay, in both Type 1 Form A and Type 1 Form C, complies with IEC/EN60335-1 standards for domestic applications, ensuring reliability and safety.

Operating flawlessly up to 105°C, the LQ series offers a high dielectric strength voltage of 4,000 Vrms between the contact and coil. The new PiP reflow type enhances the series, making it universally applicable and aligning it with the efficiency and precision required in contemporary production techniques.
Markus Bichler, Director of Relay Electronics at Panasonic Industry Europe, comments: “The LQ is known as the all-rounder among power relays. Being able to offer it now as a PiP reflow type allows us to cater to those customers who have already upgraded their manufacturing processes accordingly.” Regarding the ALQ6, he continues: “Being able to offer this versatile relay type also makes it the ideal choice for applications prone to high inrush currents, for example, in the field of industrial and building automation.”
