Like the DE1, the DE11 allows speed control for applications up to 7.5 kW and is similar to a contactor or motor starter with an "out-of-the-box" option, requiring no parameter modifications. The new DE11 features plug-in control terminals that allow for pre-assembly directly from the production line. The user can install the device horizontally or vertically. Since the device's width corresponds to the dimensions of a standard motor starter, it can generally be directly replaced. This also means that expansion and upgrade projects can be easily implemented.
Adjustments can be made from the factory settings, with subsequent access to device-specific individual settings. This allows the user to utilize a universal setup model and make basic user adjustments to the factory settings using only a screwdriver (no keyboard, software, or manual required). Compared to conventional solutions, this type of setup reduces installation time by up to 70%.
Equipped with a trip-free design, the variable speed starter provides the highest levels of availability. In addition to these features, the device can detect and automatically monitor regenerative energy recovery from motors. The device includes an automatic restart function, DC braking, DC control in case of imbalance, automatic switching frequency reduction under high load or in high-temperature environments, internal motor short-circuit protection, and direct thermistor protection. The device is also suitable for use without power loss up to 60°C.
