The SIRIUS 3UG546 DC load control relay is ideal for monitoring industrial and battery-based applications. In single- or dual-channel mode, the device monitors DC current (DC load circuit), voltage level, and actual power, and issues a warning if any of these values falls above or below predefined limits.

The SIRIUS 3UG546 has a wide operating voltage range of 0 to 800 V. The following two current variants are available: 22.5 mm overall width: 2x8 A / 1x16 A; 45 mm overall width: up to 63 A.

The SIRIUS 3UG546 DC load control relay comes with separate counters for energy consumption and energy recovery. Operating hours and switching cycles enable preventative maintenance. The switching cycles counter increments by one with each detected disconnection of the monitored load, and the operating hours counter indicates the period of time during which measurable current is present. The number of switching cycles and operating hours serves as an indicator of whether maintenance or replacement of switching elements, machine parts, and installation sections is required.

The devices can be integrated into the TIA portal, and all relevant parameters can be configured via Profinet. Measured values, counters, and diagnostic messages are transmitted to a controller via Profinet. To enable a rapid response to detected faults in the system, the internal relay serves as a signal output and is activated when a value exceeds or falls below a defined limit. Furthermore, all monitored counters and measured values can be equipped with a warning limit that triggers an alert via Profinet when a limit violation occurs. However, operation, including fault response, is also possible without Profinet.

The SIRIUS 3UG546 is ideal for use in various sectors, including: automotive (DC current control in car production facilities), robotics (energy monitoring and recovery for processes integrated into robots), e-Mobility (monitoring of supplied energy, deep discharge protection for electric vehicle charging), DC energy storage, control cabinet manufacturing (DC current monitoring in control cabinets or in manufacturing/process units), lighting, as well as in autonomously guided vehicles that automatically approach charging stations to recharge their batteries.
