KEMET utilizes a patented and robust C0G/NPO metal base electrode dielectric system, making these capacitors ideal for power converters, inverters, attenuators, and resonators requiring high efficiency. With extremely low effective series resistance (ESR) and very low thermal resistance, KC-LINK capacitors can operate with very high ripple currents with no change in capacitance with respect to DC voltage and with negligible change in capacitance with respect to temperature.
KC-LINK's C0G dielectric technology also offers a high level of mechanical strength compared to other dielectric technologies, allowing the capacitor to be mounted without wire frames. This results in an extremely low effective series inductance (ESL), which increases the operating frequency range and enables further miniaturization.
Other advantages include an operating temperature range of -55°C to +150°C, high operating frequency (>10 MHz), no piezoelectric noise, and RoHS-compliant, lead-free capacitors. Automotive devices are also available to meet the demanding AEC-Q200 requirements of the Automotive Electronics Council.
Typical applications include:
• Widebandgap (WBG) systems, silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN)
• Hybrid electric vehicles (driving and charging systems)
• Photovoltaic systems
• Power conversion
• Inverters
• DC link
• LLC resonators
• Attenuator
Farnell element14 stocks KC-LINK surface-mount capacitors from KEMET, a manufacturer of advanced capacitors and components. KEMET's KC-LINK surface-mount capacitors are designed to meet the growing demand for fast-switching semiconductors operating at higher voltages, temperatures, and frequencies.
