The WE-TVS "Standard," "High-Speed," and "Super-Speed" diodes offer effective protection against electrostatic discharge at all protection levels. The new TVS diodes comply with industry standards IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT), and IEC 61000-4-5 (surge surge) and are flame-retardant (UL 94 V-0).
The WE-TVS series comprises advanced TVS diodes for effective protection of sensitive data lines, e.g., in consumer electronics such as headphones and accessories, digital cameras, laptops, or USB Power Delivery (PD) applications. In these applications, semiconductor components like ICs or LEDs are common, often combined with external interfaces that may be exposed to electrostatic discharge. Würth Elektronik's TVS diodes block electrostatic discharges and provide reliable protection against immediate or subsequent malfunction or failure of devices.
Three series are available: Standard for slow interfaces such as RS232, RS485, or power supply; High Speed ​​and Super Speed, designed for very fast interfaces such as USB 3.1, HDMI, Thunderbolt, or Gigabit Ethernet, and featuring a low capacitance of up to 0.12 pF. The "WE-TVS TVS Diode - Standard Series" is available in both unidirectional and bidirectional configurations. The "WE-TVS TVS Diode - High Speed ​​Series" and "WE-TVS TVS Diode - Super Speed ​​Series" can be used in rail-to-rail protection circuit designs, as they offer the advantage of also protecting the power supply line with the same component.
