The new additions —which include pushbuttons, switches, pilot lights, indicators, timers, sockets and robust and ergonomic potentiometers— will allow panel designers to incorporate more functions and flexibility into their electrical panels, which in turn will offer operators new capabilities and visual indicators.
Thanks to a unique shockproof system, low-power signaling and switching, the Harmony range is ideal for demanding industrial environments and explosive/dust-laden atmospheres and can withstand very harsh operating conditions such as those in the textile, paper and wood, automotive, packaging, food and beverage, marine, mining, water, oil and gas industries.
This high-performance range is quick and easy to install thanks to its self-supporting mounting system, allows for stacking of contact modules, and features a single-screw friction-lock closure. It also includes a range of accessories compatible with the entire Harmony range.
Among the new products in the range now available from RS are:
• Flush-mount kits that provide an innovative design to enhance the look and feel of existing and older control panels.
• Potentiometers for controlling drive speed or making basic configuration adjustments.
• Three-phase voltage indicators that signal the presence of three phases with or without neutral for the main 360-440 VAC power supply.
• USB and RJ45 ports that facilitate efficient PLC connectivity.
• Panel-mounted timers for modifying PLC timer programs without opening the panel door.
• Control and signaling features consisting of pilot lights, LED block switch heads, pushbutton heads, and selector switches.
With this expanded range from Schneider Electric, panel builders can now meet all their electrical requirements with a single manufacturer and supplier, confident that spare parts and many other compatible devices will be readily available. Operators will also benefit from increased efficiency and enhanced information; a clearer view of control functions thanks to increased brightness and full-surface illumination, and flat-head pushbuttons that can be operated while wearing gloves.
This addition is part of a much larger selection of RS solutions for panel building that is supported by the important backing and complementary training of the RS DesignSpark website.
