EZ-BoardWare shielded enclosures can be mounted simply by pressing onto pre-positioned EZ-Shield surface-mount clamps, forming a Faraday cage around sensitive ICs and electronic circuitry. This eliminates costly and labor-intensive secondary assembly and simplifies subsequent work. A wide range of enclosure and clamp sizes are available. Attenuation of up to 24 dB can be achieved, depending on the frequency and configuration. Enclosures can be a simple, mechanically robust, five-sided box design that is more cost-effective than grille and lid designs. When used with EZ-BoardWare enclosure clamps, EZ-Shield enclosures resist vibration and remain securely attached to the printed circuit board. In addition to simplifying maintenance and adjustment, the automatic snap-on positioning of the EZ-BoardWare clamps eliminates post-assembly soldering and desoldering, significantly reducing board damage from overheating.
To simplify and expedite design, Harwin now offers EZ-BoardWare EMI/RFI shielding products as a kit, enabling designers to quickly build board enclosures with minimal development costs. The low-cost kits consist of two 80mm x 60mm x 0.3mm thick nickel-plated sheets pre-mounted on a 5mm grid for easy cutting and shaping, allowing the user to obtain a shielded enclosure of the required dimensions. EZ-Shield enclosure clamps are also included to securely hold the enclosures in place.

EZ-Spring contacts – also known as ground/RFI contacts, springs, or shielding springs – which can be mounted on printed circuit boards and used as ground or shielding contacts, and even for general electrical connections between printed circuit boards or similar components. When mounted in a row, the contacts provide an excellent connection for EMI/RFI shielding of metal doors or other enclosures. The contact design ensures positive contact with the bonding surface and tolerates both rubbing and sliding actions. EZ-Spring contacts are available in 15 different sizes, with a clearance height from 1.7 mm to 7.25 mm (minimum working height is 1.20 mm to 6.35 mm) and as multidirectional contacts, suitable for both vertical and horizontal contact actions.
