These devices are SIL2/PLd functional safety certified and have a depth of 25 mm, making them suitable for space-constrained applications.
In many systems, there is limited space between rotating parts and other mechanical components or structural constraints. This type of encoder is designed to adapt to these environments, such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs), where available space is often limited.
The magnetic measurement principle eliminates the need for a fixed mechanical connection between the magnet and the sensor. This allows the use of sealed housings made of aluminum, non-magnetic stainless steel, or plastic, achieving protection levels up to IP69K. The magnet remains as an independent element, resistant to harsh environmental conditions.
The system design allows for accuracies of up to 0.1%/360° with 16-bit resolution, even with a separation of several millimeters between the magnet and the sensor. Position tolerances are defined in relation to the distance, eccentricity, and tilt of the magnet.

The safety firmware includes magnet-off detection, used as a criterion within functional safety systems. The magnet can be mounted mechanically or with adhesive, while the sensor is installed opposite the magnet using brackets.
Despite its compact design, with a thickness of 25 mm and a base diameter of 42 mm, the versions with FSoE or PROFIsafe interfaces include diagnostic functions via LED indicators. Electrical connection is made using three M8 connectors.
The variant with CANopen Safety and wired connection features an even smaller design, with thicknesses ranging from 12 to 20 mm depending on the model. All versions provide position and speed data via the corresponding safety protocol.
Optionally, they can incorporate a multi-turn electronic counter to record the number of revolutions, although this function does not operate when the system is switched off. The devices allow parameter configuration for adaptation to different applications.
