The system works in two ranges, 1300 nm and 850 nm.
The MR 310 generates an encoder signal, line drive, open collector, and analog current and voltage signals (4-20 mA / 0-10 V). The cable between the two components is a standard 62.5 µm fiber, the type used in automotive applications.

The distance between the encoder and the interface can be up to 1000 m, operating at 6000 rpm, within a temperature range of -60 to 150 °C.
The advantage of this system is its high resistance to shocks, electromagnetic fields, and lightning. It is designed for the chemical industry, wind turbines, railways, and any harsh, noisy, or potentially explosive environment.
