The Agilent U4154A logic analyzer module, based on the AXle architecture, along with its corresponding probes and powerful analysis software, provides essential functions for engineers working with DDR (Double Data Rate) memory systems, high-speed application-specific embedded chips, analog-to-digital converters, and FPGAs operating at speeds up to 4 Gb/s.
Trigger sequencer speed: 2.5 Gb/s

The timing zoom offers simultaneous state and timing measurements with 80 ps resolution and a memory depth of 256 Ksamples. This allows designers to gain a deeper understanding of problems by enabling simultaneous, high-resolution state and timing measurements within a 20 µs time interval. The highest trigger sequencer speed on the market (2.5 Gb/s) gives engineers the ability to reliably trigger sequential events in DDR memory and other high-speed signals without compromising trigger flexibility.

“The need for reliable measurements and in-depth analysis is at a critical juncture now that engineers working on high-performance servers and embedded systems have begun working with DDR3 2133 systems,” said Perry Keller, Agilent representative on the JEDEC DDR Committee. “These capabilities will become even more important in the near future as DDR memory speeds continue to increase. The U4154A Logic Analyzer is the ideal tool for DDR memory measurement and debugging tasks.”
Exclusive eye-scan feature

At high speeds, validating signal integrity is critical for reliable performance. Validating signal integrity across all channels of a DDR system using an oscilloscope can be extremely time-consuming. The U4154A's unique "eye-scan" function provides a quick overview of signal integrity across all signals in a DDR system in less time than other methods.

Agilent2Compatible with the AXIe M9502A chassis,
the U4154A logic analyzer module is compatible with Agilent's two-slot M9502A AXIe chassis. Multiple modules can be combined into a single timebase and trigger sequencer. Various modular systems, including Agilent 16900 series mainframes, can also be combined for time-correlated measurements across multiple buses within a system.

“By introducing the fastest logic analyzer on the market, we are helping our customers continue to innovate as digital bus speeds increase,” said Ross Nelson, general manager of Agilent’s digital debugging solutions product line.
“This new module delivers on the promise of the AXIe standard to provide unprecedented performance in an open, modular form factor. This addition underscores Agilent’s commitment to expanding its portfolio of AXIe solutions to enable measurements across diverse domains, including protocols and high-speed logic.”
