“We recognize that the role of an engineer involves much more than just programming,” said Rudy Sengupta, vice president and general manager of NI Test and Analysis Software at Emerson. “That’s why we created LabVIEW+ Suite, to serve testing professionals in a more comprehensive and intuitive way. The suite provides engineers with context, configurations, and data as they move from one task to another, saving them significant time and allowing them to focus on the most valuable parts of their role.”
The new technology reflects Emerson’s vision to redefine productivity in the age of AI by helping test engineers keep pace with rising expectations for speed and efficiency while leveraging new levels of innovation through tools designed specifically for their work. This iteration, which builds on the initial version of Nigel AI released last year, offers new capabilities. To better serve engineers, it has been trained in test system design, testing methodologies, and test data analysis.
Nigel AI now features code autocompletion, suggesting several intelligent next-step options during development. This helps engineers select the best option for their workflow, saving valuable programming time and preventing potential errors. Furthermore, Nigel AI now has contextual awareness of NI LabVIEW and the ability to review NI TestStand™ sequences and access local hardware, providing engineers with context-rich support that accelerates development and improves accuracy.
Other enhancements incorporated into LabVIEW+ Suite are designed to serve the large global user community with new features that boost productivity and help meet the most demanding testing requirements. New features in this release include:
Modern user interfaces that leverage new web technologies in LabVIEW and TestStand;
improved debugging workflows in LabVIEW with better source control integration;
containerization through Docker Desktop™ support for Windows™ to enhance CI/CD pipelines;
and improvements to the installer for faster setup.
