accelerator-measurements-pxie-wWith the M9451A, engineers can perform envelope tracking and open/closed loop DPD measurements in tens of milliseconds, which is up to 100 times faster.

Now, the M9451A has been integrated into the reference solution for characterizing and testing power amplifiers and RF input modules to deliver even greater performance while maintaining high accuracy in measurements of S-parameters, harmonic distortion, power, and demodulation. The reference solution enables comprehensive characterization of the latest generation of power amplifier modules, such as duplexer and power amplifier (PAD) modules.

The robust DPD algorithms of the reference solution are based on years of close collaboration with manufacturers in the mobile communications industry and on data obtained using Keysight's SystemVue simulation software and Signal Studio software for testing N7614B power amplifiers. This makes it the only solution capable of providing consistent measurements, from simulation to manufacturing, for next-generation power amplifier modules.

“We continue to enhance our reference solution for power amplifiers to offer our customers unprecedented technology and performance in testing,” said Mario Narduzzi, Marketing Director of Keysight’s Software and Modular Solutions Division. “The M9451A demonstrates what can be achieved by combining Keysight’s measurement expertise with high-speed data management from PXIe and the latest generation of commercially available FPGA cards.”.

The open-source sample code for reference solution test commands facilitates rapid evaluation of power amplifier test configurations and reduces the time to first measurement. This new capability allows engineers to improve the performance of devices with DPD and ET and shorten test durations.

Keysight's modular PXIe and AXIe products and reference solutions benefit from the company's highly reliable measurement science and calibration expertise. This allows customers to be confident in consistent measurement results from R&D to manufacturing, accelerating design cycles.

Power amplifier modules (PADs) are emerging as an increasingly popular alternative to more traditional power amplifier architectures. In addition to lower power consumption and improved efficiency and value, they allow device designers to save and optimize space by replacing multiple discrete components with a single compact module. Furthermore, PAD adoption is rapidly growing among device designers due to the trend toward a wider range of bands resulting from the deployment of new LTE networks.
