All HDO models feature a large 12.1” color touchscreen and an intuitive user interface that requires no learning curve and is easy to use. With a powerful suite of triggering, analysis, and debugging tools, along with all types of automatic measurements and mathematical functions, the HDO-MS oscilloscopes are the all-in-one analog, digital, and serial instrument for troubleshooting any type of signal.
Due to the rise of embedded systems, powerful mixed-signal acquisition and analysis capabilities are essential features of modern oscilloscopes. In addition to 16 digital channels, HDO-MS oscilloscopes come standard with a suite of utilities designed for debugging mixed signals. Analog/digital mixed triggering, digital timing measurements, parallel pattern search, logic gate emulation, and activity indicators are ideal tools for accurately validating and debugging complex embedded designs. These capabilities complement the HDO's extensive toolset, including WaveScan, Search and Find, History Mode signal playback, sequential acquisition mode, and LabNotebook report generators. Spectral Analysis and Power Analysis software packages further expand the oscilloscope's functionality, while the 12-bit architecture with its increased dynamic range significantly improves measurement accuracy.
The HDO4000-MS series oscilloscopes offer a sampling rate of 2.5 Gs/s and up to 25 Mpts/channel memory depth (up to 50 Mpts/channel in interpolated mode) in 2- and 4-channel models from 200 MHz to 1 GHz.
The HDO6000-MS oscilloscope range comprises 4-channel models at 350 MHz, 500 MHz, and 1 GHz, with a sampling rate of 2.5 Gs/s and 250 Mpts/channel memory.
The HDO4096 High Definition Technology is based on high-sampling-rate 12-bit ADCs, amplifiers with a high signal-to-noise ratio, and a very low intrinsic noise architecture. This technology allows high-definition oscilloscopes to capture and display signals up to 1 GHz with high sampling rates and 16 times the resolution of other oscilloscopes. Accurate measurements are critical for signal debugging and optimization of systems under test. With HDO4096 technology, oscilloscopes provide unparalleled accuracy, enhancing testing capabilities and delivering superior results.
Highly accurate signal visualization and a high sampling rate are useless without excellent debugging and analysis tools. All HDO models incorporate powerful utilities for rapid debugging and in-depth waveform analysis. WaveScan is a search and find utility that allows you to locate runts, glitches, and other anomalies in a data acquisition using more than 20 different criteria. It can also be used to scan and search for an event or event type over hours or even days. History mode allows you to view acquisitions over time to isolate anomalies and measure them with parameters and cursors. The Serial Data Trigger and Decode functionality quickly isolates bus events without the need for manual triggering and searching. Sequential mode stores events (acquisitions) as 'segments,' allowing for the rapid capture of many pulses in quick succession or of events separated by a long period of time, reducing dead time between triggers. The LabNotebook documentation and reporting tool makes it easy to document and share test results by saving the report, working conditions, waveforms, and annotated comments.
With mathematical functions including averages, enhanced resolution (ERES up to 15 bits), FFT, and a wide variety of parameter measurements and combinations thereof, HDOs can measure and analyze every aspect of a waveform. Beyond simply measuring the waveform, thanks to their statistics, histograms, trend measurements, and other features, HDO oscilloscopes display the signal's evolution over time.
HDO oscilloscopes also have access to the numerous software packages that Teledyne LeCRoy offers with its high-end oscilloscopes, which allow users to focus the oscilloscope's functionality on very specific areas of analysis and debugging. The Spectral Analysis software transforms the HDO's controls into those of a spectrum analyzer, allowing users to adjust the span frequency, bandwidth resolution, and frequency centering. Users can apply filters to input signals and see the frequency signature change in real time. It includes peak search for spectral components and displays a table with the frequency and level. Selecting a line moves the cursor to the selected peak. The spectrogram display allows users to see how the spectrum changes over time.
The Power Analysis Package, with its dedicated user interface, quickly measures and analyzes the operating characteristics of power conversion equipment and circuits, including automatic loss measurements. Turn-on and turn-off areas and conduction losses are identified using color-coded waveforms. It incorporates tools for performing critical measurements of power switching equipment, loop control modulation analysis, and power line harmonic testing. Setup is distributed by Teledyne Lecroy.
