Capacitive charging capability facilitates testing of photovoltaic systems and cables. The 981i provides an output voltage of up to 6.5kV, and the 983i has a maximum of 11kV.
Built on Vitrek's DSP technology, the 98x instruments include the following features:
• Multi-dwell functionality (multiple steps without having to zero out between steps)
• High-speed testing (with 100 ms response times)
• Pico-Amp leakage measurement (with stable and accurate 50 Teraohm IR readings)
• Continuously variable IR test voltage (adjustable across the instrument's entire output range)
• Multi-mode IR (three test modes – end-on-time, end-on-pass, end-on-fail)
• Capacitance test modes (critical for solar panels, wire harnesses, and other capacitive loads)
For applications requiring IR testing on multiple conductors, the Vitrek 98x can control up to four 64-channel Vitrek 964i high-voltage scanners. Using a PC with Vitrek QT Enterprise™ software, the same unit can handle up to 1020 test points.
