This version of the popular 6U VPX SBC benefits from even greater processing power in a single VPX blade, enabling more sophisticated signal processing within the same enclosure. An XMC slot can also be incorporated to accommodate a VITA 61-2011 XMC intermediate card. Use cases such as encryption or storage can be addressed with application-specific devices.
The VX6090 comes ready for evaluation thanks to a turnkey, live Linux distribution. The distribution also includes all the source code needed to recompile the BSP to match other Linux-based environments. A key feature of the distribution is Kontron's CMON-Line monitoring service, which provides a continuous stream of computer health measurement data in XML format, either for displaying human-readable dashboards or for using that data for higher-level monitoring solutions.
In addition, for systems with tighter space constraints, since the first quarter of 2019, Kontron has also been offering Intel® Xeon®-based VPX SBCs in a 3U form factor, the VX305C-40G and VX305H-40G. These have been developed in alignment with the SOSA™ technical standard and are the first to offer 40Gb data plane connectivity.
