The European component distribution sector saw massive growth in the fourth quarter of 2021 and finished the year with a new sales record. Semiconductor sales, as reported by members, grew by 39.4% compared to Q4 2020, reaching a new record of €2.62 billion. IP&E components (interconnected, passive, and electromechanical) grew by 39.5% to €1.13 billion, also a new record. Overall, across all components, distribution sales in 2021 grew by 25.4% to over €13.9 billion.

Saft has secured a major contract from Neoen, France's leading independent renewable energy producer, to deliver an 8MW/8MWh turnkey energy storage project in Antugnac, southern France. The facility will be the first co-site solar farm with energy storage systems connected to the French high-voltage transmission grid and will provide vital frequency regulation services to enable Neoen to meet its contractual commitments under RTE's long-term tendering scheme (AOLT).
