The International Automotive Task Force developed IATF 16949 in 2016 with the assistance of the Automotive Industry Action Group; this standard requires certification by an external auditor. IATF 16949 incorporates the structure and requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard, enabling companies to optimize productivity, increase efficiency, and foster innovation and operational growth. The new certification emphasizes product expansion, improved fuel systems, risk management, and supplier management.

Among the advantages that certification provides are prevention detection, waste reduction, product safety, risk management, contingency planning, and the management of subcontracted suppliers.

“Certification ensures that power companies deliver consistent, high-quality products and services to their customers to meet their requirements efficiently and effectively, and increase customer loyalty,” said Farouq Tuweiq, Chief Financial Officer of Bel Fuse Inc. “It also presents an opportunity for Bel to expand into new markets, as some sectors and customers require IATF 16949 certification before doing business.”

Thanks to this certification, Bel can enhance its presence and commitment to the automotive and electromobility industries, as well as its global recognition as a prestigious supplier, in parallel with the continuous improvement of products and customer satisfaction, since many of them in the automotive sector now require IATF 16949.
