The project will support the design, production, and operation phases of the dryer. Thanks to this project, design time will be reduced and design reliability increased, achieving better integration of the equipment into the overall process, while also providing an optimal process configuration.
The following entities participate in this project: Prodesa Medioambiente, Electroingenium, the Numerical Fluid Dynamics Group of the University of Zaragoza and Multimedia Memorandum.
Prodesa is an engineering firm specializing in developing turnkey solutions for complete biomass pellet plants or production lines. The company handles the design and engineering of each project, as well as its manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning. Once the project is delivered, it offers after-sales services for plant operation and maintenance. As part of its comprehensive service, the company has its own division for the design and manufacture of equipment for pellet production.
Electroingenium is an automation engineering firm that provides services for Industry 4.0. The company specializes in developing industrial automation and electrical engineering projects for companies in various sectors, including automotive, logistics, energy, and process engineering. At Electroingenium, automation projects are carried out using innovative work methodologies based on simulation and emulation (also known as Virtual Commissioning). These methodologies aim to reduce investment risk through repeatable testing and by verifying controller logic before actual commissioning, connecting dynamic process models with real controllers.
The Numerical Fluid Dynamics Group (GFN) is a research group at the University of Zaragoza, part of the Aragon Institute for Engineering Research (I3A).
One of its main lines of research is the development of numerical models for simulating processes and equipment to improve and optimize them. Notable examples of their work include collaboration with the I3A's appliance technology laboratory, analysis of building ventilation to assess the likelihood of COVID-19 transmission, and support for the integration of hybrid solar panels to provide heat, cooling, and electricity in agri-food industry processes. Recently, the GFN has been developing methods for integrating its numerical models into platforms that require real-time responses, such as digital twins and cyber-physical systems.
The GFN team has extensive experience participating in and coordinating publicly funded research projects at the national and European levels. They have also undertaken numerous collaborations with private companies through both public and privately funded projects.
Memorándum Multimedia is a technology consultancy specializing in custom software development, with a particular focus on innovation projects, such as computer vision and artificial intelligence projects for the industrial sector. The company currently provides technological solutions to both public and private sector organizations.
