GS Yuasa Corporation Chairman Osamu Murao cut the symbolic ribbon at a warm gathering of 120 guests. Attendees, including clients, company partners, local dignitaries, media representatives, and colleagues, were immersed in an authentic Japanese experience, highlighted by a sake barrel-breaking ceremony, a captivating performance by a Japanese artist, a sushi-making workshop, and a unique sake tasting.

Spanning 16,583 square meters, this state-of-the-art facility promises a radical shift in the battery industry thanks to its cutting-edge warehouse equipment and sophisticated automated racking systems. Capable of storing nearly one million batteries, the enormous warehouse can accommodate an astonishing 23,000 pallets. This 70% increase in capacity is a testament to GS Yuasa's commitment to ensuring a robust and efficient supply chain in both the UK and Europe.
These systems not only guarantee greater efficiency in order fulfillment but also position the battery manufacturer to enhance the customer experience, in line with its ambitious growth strategy for the next two decades.
Underscoring the importance of the facility, GS Yuasa Battery Europe Ltd. will relocate its headquarters from Ebbw Vale, Wales, to the Swindon site. This strategic relocation aims to consolidate operations in finance, procurement, technical support, and IT. As the supervisory body for GS Yuasa's seven European companies spread across the continent, the move demonstrates the company's ambition to expand its market influence throughout Europe.

In the Iberian market, GS Yuasa Battery Iberia is headquartered in Madrid, from where the company provides localized service, support, supply, and quality Original Equipment products for Spain and other territories, including Portugal. This localized presence allows them to serve the industrial, motorcycle, and automotive battery markets with high availability, fast delivery times, and the high levels of customer service, training, financing, and marketing for which GS Yuasa is known.

Andrew Taylor, Managing Director and CEO of GS Yuasa Battery Europe Ltd., expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “Our investment in these new facilities is a clear representation of our commitment to elevating our customer experience, service, and supply in line with our ambitious growth plans for the next decade and beyond. With state-of-the-art equipment and increased storage capacities, we are better equipped than ever to meet the growing demand for batteries in the UK and Europe.”
