Founded in 1992 in São Paulo, PPI-Multitask has extensive experience integrating automation systems for the control of industrial machines and processes. Its solutions enable the automation of data collection and online monitoring of the production plant, connecting it with other company management systems and preparing the industrial park to meet the new demands of Industry 4.0.
According to Carlos José Bastos Grillo, Digital Business Director at WEG, with this acquisition, the company begins offering its clients MES software, which is the backbone of Industry 4.0. "Connected to an MES management system, we will be able to provide accurate production and machine information in real time, synchronizing the production plant with sales requests, supplies, and inventory, ensuring inventory accuracy, industrial costs, and, above all, enabling greater productivity," explains Grillo.
Associated with WEG's traditional automation and motor products, PPI's software will enable the integration of equipment performance monitoring, including electric motors using WEG's Motor Scan sensor, into the real-time manufacturing execution management system. This ensures online plant visibility and primarily enables productivity management and increased OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
In June 2019, WEG announced the creation of a new digital business framework to accelerate the development of integrated or external software solutions for the company's traditional products, as well as to transform its real-time manufacturing and process management system into a business.
