Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, CEO of Messe München, congratulates the trade fair on its anniversary: “For 50 years, productronica has been showcasing innovations across the entire electronics manufacturing value chain. It therefore plays an indispensable role in setting the pace for the entire industry. Together with electronica, it also reinforces Munich’s position as a leading international center for electronics.”

Key players have confirmed their participation.
This coming autumn, more than 1,400 companies from the PCB and EMS, SMT, semiconductor, inspection and quality, future production and smart factory, and cable, coil, and hybrid sectors will present their solutions and products at productronica. Among others, key players such as ASMPT, Ersa, Fuji, Komax, Rohde & Schwarz, and Viscom have already confirmed their participation in the event.

Key themes of productronica 2025
This year's edition of productronica will focus on three key themes: advanced packaging, power electronics and value chain security through reliable microelectronics.

Advanced Packaging: A Key Role in Microelectronics.
Compared to traditional chip packaging, advanced packaging utilizes innovative approaches, such as 2.5D and 3D integration, chiplet technologies, and wafer-level packaging, to maximize the performance of modern electronic systems. These technologies are crucial for applications in high-performance computing, AI accelerators, 5G and IoT devices, as well as automotive and medical technology. Thanks to shorter signal paths, improved heat dissipation, and higher bandwidths, advanced packaging not only increases the efficiency of semiconductor systems but also helps reduce production costs and material consumption. Therefore, it plays a key role in the development of microelectronics and enables innovation in an increasingly connected world.

Power Electronics: A Guarantee of Sustainability and Resource Conservation.
Power electronics is essential for applications in electric mobility, renewable energy, industrial automation, and power semiconductors for high-frequency, high-voltage applications. The use of modern semiconductor materials, such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN), allows for reduced power losses and component size, while simultaneously improving operational reliability. Therefore, power electronics makes a significant contribution to a sustainable and resource-efficient energy supply, as well as to the development of innovative technologies in various sectors.

Secure microelectronics protects digital infrastructures.
Secure microelectronics refers to the development and production of secure, reliable, and tamper-proof semiconductor technologies throughout a transparent and controlled value chain. The goal is to ensure the integrity, authenticity, and cybersecurity of microelectronic components, especially in security-critical applications. This technology is vital for sectors such as automotive, industrial automation, medical technology, and defense, where the availability and protection of sensitive data and resilience to attacks are essential. By using security-certified manufacturing processes, traceable supply chains, and hardware-based security mechanisms, secure microelectronics makes a significant contribution to the protection of digital infrastructures and technological sovereignty.

productronica Innovation Award
will be presented for the sixth time at Messe München. Exhibitors can submit their products and solutions in the categories of Cables, Coils and Hybrids, Future Markets, Inspection and Quality, PCBs and EMS, Semiconductors, and SMT. An independent jury evaluates the innovations. Nominations for the award can be submitted between July 31 and September 25, 2025. The productronica Innovation Award is the first independent award in the electronics manufacturing sector and is organized in close collaboration with the trade magazine productronic.
SEMICON Europa will also be held in parallel with productronica in 2025. It will occupy Halls B1, C1, and C2.
