To participate in the Matter Challenge, contestants must create an account on the Silicon Labs community platform. They will then need to create an original project based on the Nano Matter . Proposals will be evaluated based on their depth, potential impact, and innovation.

The Arduino Nano Matter board is based on Silicon Labs' powerful MGM240S microcontroller. The Arduino Nano Matter seamlessly incorporates the advanced Matter standard for IoT connectivity, making it ideal for hobbyists and professionals alike. With its compact dimensions of 18 x 45 mm, the Nano Matter is perfect for energy-efficient projects requiring connectivity options such as Bluetooth® Low Energy and OpenThread®. Users can leverage the wide range of peripherals and I/O pins within the Arduino ecosystem to enhance device connectivity and project functionality.

The winner of the Matter Challenge will be announced on November 7, 2024, and will receive a $500 (USD) credit on Mouser.com, recognition at Silicon Labs' Works With virtual conference, Bose headphones, and other prizes. All participants will receive a three-month subscription to the Novel Bits Bluetooth developer training course.

Matter is an IP-based connectivity protocol that unifies the industry and streamlines the creation of IoT applications, while enabling seamless integration into a wide variety of ecosystems for smart homes, industrial automation, consumer electronics, smart agriculture, healthcare, and other sectors.
