This technology significantly accelerates the creation and debugging of libraries. The standard YRi-V system comes with a 12MP camera and offers resolution options of 12µm, 7µm, and 5µm, and can be directly integrated into SMT assembly lines configured for single- or dual-lane operation.

The new YRi-V TypeHS 3D AOI system, with its 25-megapixel camera, increases inspection speed by more than 50% to 30.5 cm² per second with a resolution of 7 µm, significantly boosting production throughput. Furthermore, the optional 3D laser assists in measuring components with opaque or highly reflective surfaces, such as LED lenses and WLCSP packages, which are notoriously difficult to inspect. Both the YRi-V and YRi-V TypeHS incorporate Yamaha's high-precision LED measurement function, which reduces the time required to check the alignment of LEDs arranged in groups, such as the multiple emitters in a smart headlight assembly.

Also at the booth, Yamaha will be showcasing the new VP-01G-Y online solder paste inspection system, which provides high-speed, high-precision 2D inspection of the paste on the pad after silkscreening and before component placement.

“The high-performance inspection systems we are showcasing at Electronica this year highlight the importance of advanced quality control to support the rapid pace of electrification,” says Shuichi Imai, General Manager of Sales for Europe at Yamaha Robotics. “We are delighted to present the innovations of our YRi-V TypeHS system, which meet the demands of different markets. Our machine and software demonstrations will show how cutting-edge technologies like AI can make engineers’ lives easier and accelerate new product introductions.”

In areas of special focus, Yamaha specialists will describe the software that powers these flexible, high-speed, and highly accurate inspection systems. These software tools feature intuitive graphical user interfaces that facilitate rapid machine programming, along with an easy-to-use control panel that helps interpret results and monitor production status. Visitors will also be able to see the YSUP-LINK software in action, which connects all Yamaha surface mount equipment in the factory with enterprise systems such as manufacturing execution and resource planning, enabling smart factories.

YSUP-LINK is part of Yamaha's comprehensive production support system, YSUP, which comprises powerful tools for configuring, monitoring, and remotely controlling all Yamaha equipment on the production line. In addition to the inspection systems showcased at Electronica this year, Yamaha offers a portfolio of high-speed, highly automated screen printing machines, placement machines, and component storage systems. All of these are part of the 1 STOP SMART SOLUTION and are designed to connect and communicate seamlessly across production lines and throughout the factory floor to maximize productivity and deliver flexibility, space efficiency, and scalability.

Yamaha Robotics will present its advanced inspection systems during Electronica 2024 at Messe München, stand 462, hall A3, from November 12 to 15, 2024.
