The initial budget for the aid amounts to 660 million euros, however, the initial amount is expected to be increased to 1,320 million euros in the total program.
The autonomous communities will be able to use the budget throughout the national territory until 2023. In addition, they will have to commit 80% of the initial budget during the first year or they must reimburse 50% of what has been committed within 15 months from the publication in the BOE of the Royal Decree.
Taking into account the total budget of the six programs, the €1.32 billion is allocated as follows: €900 million for self-consumption systems, €220 million for energy storage, and €200 million for heating, cooling, and hot water from renewable sources such as geothermal or biomass. The grant covers investment in equipment and materials; civil works; electromechanical, hydraulic, control, and auxiliary equipment; management and monitoring systems; project drafting, technical reports, and project management, among other activities.
