Digi-Key launches the second season of its video series, "Growing Differently," with YAGEO Group and STMicroelectronics.
The three-part second season, sponsored by YAGEO Group and STMicroelectronics, will highlight farm-to-table connectivity and feature interviews with agricultural industry experts on automation, labor issues, advanced sensors, resource management, and asset tracking.
"When moving toward sustainable farming practices and greater efficiency in food production, connectivity is crucial," said Josh Mickolio, vendor business development manager for wireless technology at Digi-Key. "We are excited to showcase how technologies such as advanced sensors and automated systems are enabling more sustainable and less wasteful options for food production across the entire supply chain, from farm to table."
“The future of agriculture depends on big data, and KEMET is honored to work with some of the world’s most innovative designers to collect, process, analyze, and act on vast amounts of sensing data to make agriculture efficient, targeted, and sustainable,” said Scott Carson, Vice President of Product Management and Central Planning at the YAGEO Group. “KEMET KONNEKT™ high-density packaging technology is an example of how we are working to support the transformation of agricultural technology to ensure a brighter future for our planet.”
“Sustainability has been central to ST’s business model and culture for the past 25 years,” said Edoardo Gallizio, Director of Product Marketing at ST. “Our strategy drives our investments and roadmap decisions and demonstrates how our current products can enable smart, precise farming solutions that embody ST’s vision of contributing to long-term, sustainable, and profitable growth for society.”

The first of three videos in the series, “Automating a Withering Workforce,” is now available on the Digi-Key website and explores how the growing shortage of farmers worldwide has created a need for automated solutions to step in and fill the gap.
The second video, titled “Farm to Fork,” will highlight technologies that can better monitor food throughout the supply chain to prevent excessive waste; and the third video, “The Sustainable Future of Agriculture,” will address new innovations in agricultural technology that maximize efficiency.
