The salt used is collected by drying it through the evaporation of seawater in tanks. Salt batteries are used. Since the systems and all their components are 100% environmentally friendly and recyclable, the battery does not fall into the category of special waste; it simply needs to be taken to a landfill where it will be treated as normal electronic waste.

The battery is divided into 5 cell groups. In the event of breakage of up to 2 groups, these will automatically disconnect, allowing the system to continue using the remaining battery capacity. The cell groups are replaceable and regenerable.

The battery memory effect can occur when the battery is repeatedly charged before its stored energy is depleted. This, in turn, causes the battery to "memorize" the reduced lifespan. The next time it is used, a significant decrease in runtime will be noticeable. These batteries are resistant to this effect and can remain unused for months without damage.
As a result, the lifespan of the storage systems is extended, maintaining 100% performance at all times, compared to standard systems. Furthermore, thanks to their chemical properties, even under the most adverse conditions, the battery will retain its charge level if it is switched off for an extended period.

The ZHERO® residential system, Engineered by UNE, has been designed to allow the installation of up to 12 kWp of photovoltaic panels without requiring a change to the home's single-phase electricity meter.

The ZHERO® Engineered by UNE system has a useful life expectancy of 20 years

The ZHERO® Engineered by UNE residential system requires no maintenance and offers continuous support, even remotely, via its web portal. This portal allows you to view and manage the system from any mobile phone, tablet, or PC, all monitored from UNE's headquarters in Italy.

The ZHERO® Engineered by UNE system is designed for installation in any environment. Its
operating temperature range is from -20°C to +60°C.

ZHERO® Engineered by UNE is unaffected by energy price fluctuations, features double insulation control, and is safe. Even in the event of a dispersion, there is no risk of flashover (no risk of explosion/flashover even if immersed in water). It also offers galvanic isolation and, finally, no risk of DC power input from the mains.
