CIRCUTOR has designed a new capacitor bank that, by measuring on the 3 phases, just like the utility company's meter, is able to adapt to the different target power factor values required in each tariff period, thus guaranteeing no penalties, but maintaining maximum efficiency of the electrical system.
This solution is designed both for new reactive power compensation equipment and for adapting capacitor banks already operating in electrical installations.
As an example, to quantify the impact that this penalty may entail, we can consider that in an installation with a 630 kVA transformer, an average excess of only 30 kvarC.h, would imply a penalty of €552 for the total of the approximately 368 hours per month that comprise period 6, therefore, around €6600 per year.
