The new version of Evolution, which was unveiled at the fair, has been designed as an ultra-compact and lightweight solution with great versatility, as it can be installed indoors or outdoors, on or off the grid, under very high or extremely low temperatures, and in remote or hard-to-reach locations.
In addition to the new Evolution, attendees at Intelec 2011 were also able to see Saft's full range of batteries for the telecommunications sector, developed to offer the perfect combination of performance, safety, reliability, minimal maintenance, and long operating life for the demanding environment typically found in outdoor plant switchgear (OSP). These include the Intensium 1 and Intensium 3 lithium-ion batteries, as well as nickel-based batteries, including the high-power, maintenance-free TEL X range; the Sunica.plus batteries, optimized for use in photovoltaic applications; and the low-maintenance SPH technology for starting diesel engines and generators.
During the conference held at Intelec 2011, the characteristics of lithium-ion technology, designed to meet a wide range of telecommunications applications, were presented. The Evoluon 48V Li-ion battery is ultra-compact and features a lightweight, modular design that offers great potential for creating a small, safe, and reliable backup power system. The Evoluon battery offers a very cost-effective total cost of ownership (TCO), a long operating life, and minimal maintenance requirements. Furthermore, it facilitates smart communications and is manufactured with environmentally friendly materials.
