The system can be scaled to suit propulsion and other loads on board vessels, including ferries, workboats and tugs, offshore support vessels, cruise ships, and yachts.
Annie Sennet, executive vice president of Saft's Space and Defense division, said: "We believe our battery systems make a vital contribution to the low-carbon economy. For the marine industry, Seanergy 2.0 delivers high performance at a lower cost, enabling shipyards and electrical integrators to deliver battery systems for electric and hybrid propulsion more competitively in smaller spaces."
Seanergy 2.0 boasts a high energy density of 130 watt-hours per liter (Wh/l), making it a compact solution even for the most confined spaces. Vessel integrators can utilize individual modules to construct large-scale battery systems up to 1,060 volts (V), complete with power capacity, safety, management, and communication capabilities.
The battery system is designed for reliability and a long service life under the harshest environmental conditions. Furthermore, it is low-maintenance and allows for remote monitoring by uploading operational data to a secure server.
Seanergy 2.0 is manufactured at Saft's facility in Poitiers, France, and is designed to meet the highest certifications in the marine industry.
